(English) During 2022 and 2023, the guitar quartet Gerardo Villar y los Aguirre, composed of the talented guitarists Alejandro Lera, Matias Lafonte, and Miguel Torres, embarked on an unforgettable tour across Europe, leaving a profound impression on every stage they graced. Their itinerary included performances in the picturesque region of Tuscany, Italy, where they were joined by the great guitarist Fabrizio Bai; in various cities across Switzerland; and in the lovely milongas of France, where they also offered a tango masterclass, sharing their knowledge and passion for Argentine music and dance. In England, the group had the privilege of collaborating with the renowned singer Martín Alvarado, which further enriched their performances. Together, they gave performances in Nottingham, London, and other cities in the United Kingdom. Additionally, their participation in the prestigious Liverpool Festival was one of the highlights of the tour, solidifying their presence on the international music scene. Throughout their journey, the quartet captivated European audiences with their virtuosity and the emotional depth of their interpretations.

With conceptual clarity, original compositions and remakes of several classical pieces of tango and folklore, Gerardo Villar y los Aguirre eagerly and with eloquence, take us on a journey to live the experience of authors such as Discépolo, Piazzolla, Zitarrosa, and legendary duets such as Troilo and Manzi, and Gardel and Le Pera.
